1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all reservations and stays at Capanna Cadagno.
They govern the contractual relationship between the person making the reservation (guest) and Capanna Cadagno, represented by the hut management.

2. Accommodation contract and reservation

2.1 Conclusion of the contract

The accommodation contract is concluded directly and exclusively between the guest and the hut management of Capanna Cadagno.

2.2 Binding nature of the reservation

A reservation for sleeping places and half board becomes binding once confirmed verbally or in writing.
Upon confirmation, these GTC come into force automatically.

3. Advance payment / deposit

3.1 Payment obligation prior to departure

The hut management of Capanna Cadagno is entitled to request an advance payment or deposit to secure the reservation.
The total amount due must be paid no later than before departure from the hut.
A refund is only possible in the event of a timely cancellation in accordance with the cancellation conditions.

4. Cancellation conditions / No‑show fee

4.1 Free cancellation

Cancellations, changes or postponements of reservations are possible free of charge up to 2 days before the reserved overnight stay by 6:00 p.m., via Hut‑Reservation or by telephone.

4.2 Charges for late cancellation or no‑show

In the event of late cancellation, changes in the number of persons or failure to appear (no‑show), the hut management is entitled to charge the following amounts per person and per night:

• Up to 2 days before arrival, 6:00 p.m.: free of charge
• Less than 2 days, after 6:00 p.m.: CHF 30.–
• Less than 1 day, after 6:00 p.m.: CHF 50.–
• No‑show (failure to appear without notice): full amount of the reserved services

4.3 Exceptional cases

The no‑show fee is waived if the guest provides written proof and documentation that travel was not possible or not reasonable due to:

• a confirmed severe weather warning issued by MeteoSwiss, or
• an increase in avalanche danger level according to the SLF bulletin.

The hut management must be informed no later than 6:00 p.m. on the evening before arrival.

4.4 Early departure

These provisions also apply in the event of early departure.

5. Withdrawal by the hut management

The hut management of Capanna Cadagno may withdraw from the contract if force majeure or other circumstances beyond its controloccur, if the guest seriously violates the hut regulations, or if the purpose of the stay is illegal.
There is no entitlement to compensation.

6. Identification requirement

6.1 Reduced rates

Reduced rates are granted only upon presentation of a valid membership card.

6.2 Mountain guides

Professional mountain guides stay free of charge upon presentation of:

• a valid IVBV card, and
• a recognized membership card.

7. Payment

7.1 Payment modalities

Accommodation and consumption costs must be paid no later than the day of departure.
Electronic means of payment are accepted subject to technical availability.

7.2 Unstaffed periods

During unstaffed periods, accommodation costs must be:

• paid in cash into the hut cash box, or
• settled by bank transfer within 10 days.

8. Liability disclaimer

All oral and written information provided by the hut management is given to the best of its knowledge but without guarantee.
Decisions regarding tours and alpine safety are solely the responsibility of the guest.
Capanna Cadagno accepts no liability for any resulting damages.

9. Applicable law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies.
The place of jurisdiction is the municipality in which Capanna Cadagno is located.
