From the top station of the Ritom funicular, the path follows the natural track along the northern shore of Lake Ritom. The wide, pleasant route is almost entirely flat until about halfway along the lake, after which it climbs gently before reaching Lake Cadagno, Alpe Piora and the Capanna Cadagno.

From the top station of the Ritom funicular, the path follows the natural track along the northern shore of Lake Ritom. The wide, pleasant route is almost entirely flat until about halfway round the lake, after which the climb begins towards Lake Tom and continues uphill to a viewpoint. After a descent towards Cadagno, a short climb begins, passing by Alpe Piora, which leads to the hut.

The Lake Ritom nature trail follows the southern shore of the lake and, with the help of a printed guide available at the Ritom Funicular station, allows visitors to discover aspects of human settlement, the flora, fauna and the geological and biochemical features of the region. From Cadagno, it is easy to continue on to the Capanna Cadagno.

From the top station of the Ritom Funicular, you reach the dam at Lake Ritom and take the path that runs along the southern shore of the lake. After a stretch through woodland with splendid views of the water, the route climbs towards the Capanna Cadagno, an ideal spot for a break. From here, you descend towards the Cadagno area and continue towards Lake Tom, crossing the open alpine basin of the Val Piora. Finally, the path leads comfortably back to the dam, completing a picturesque circular route.

From the Capanna Cadagno, the path first descends towards the Cadagno area, crossing the alpine basin. From here begins the ascent leading to the Lake Tom area, set amidst an open landscape rich in high-altitude pastures. Once past the lake, the route continues to climb along grassy slopes and more alpine sections, until it reaches Capanna Cadlimo, situated in a panoramic position in the heart of the upper Val Piora. This route offers a splendid combination of alpine lakes, pastures and sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.
